What I'm hoping to accomplish.

For personal reasons, I want to read the bible more. Specifically the Christian Holy Bible and I think the version I have now is the NIV. I like reading the bible because it leads me to think on other things such as life events, other pieces of literature and it has a snowball effect on my life and I like it.

I'm hoping that I can keep up with consistency. I have a hard time committing time to reading the bible and maybe this will be an added motivator.

I chose the words orientation and analogue specifically. Orientation means to identify where your self is in accordance to something. Analogue is the connections, comparisons, relationships between two different subjects. I tend to have a hard time just reading something without trying to be overly scholarly. So, I'm just going to embrace the way I was made and read the bible and write what I find is relevant and how it effects me personally (orientation) and I'm also going to see where that internal discussion takes me with allusions, links and what have you (analog.)

I want to try to read a piece of scripture every day for one week and see how many smart things I can say about it. I'd like to write as if a student were trying to write a paper and try to make very well rounded arguments in hopes that one day I could be used that one non-academic resource in a bibliography. Oh, to dream!

I will also probably take a moment in the blog to pray. I like praying.

Dear Lord in Heaven,

Help me in this endeavor to be closer in understanding Your word.
Give me strength and wisdom to find time to read and write everyday.
I am looking to be closer to You.

Amen.
